Finding Inspiration in Everyday Life

It’s been a while since my last post. Life has been busy behind the scenes, but I’m hopeful we’re back on track for smoother sailing.

When I sat down to write, I struggled to find a topic—then it hit me like a bolt of lightning! Today, I want to share what inspires me, both in work and in life.

Inspiration is Everywhere

Inspiration isn’t always a sudden “aha!” moment. Sometimes, it’s a quiet hum in the background of daily life, waiting for me to notice. For me, inspiration doesn’t come from a single person or source—it’s all around me. From my home to my hobbies to the friends I surround myself with, there’s always something that sparks creativity.

Living in Hawaii, I’m constantly surrounded by natural beauty. From the shifting colors of the ocean to the mix of island and city life, there’s always something to slow down and take in. The cooling ocean breeze carries the scents of rain, plumeria flowers, and even the local coffee shop. Every sunrise feels like a fresh canvas waiting to be shared with the world.

Hobbies as Inspiration

A surprising source of inspiration for me might be video games. I’ve loved them since childhood, from consoles to computer games. Whether it’s a massive fantasy world like World of Warcraft or a tiny indie gem like Undertale, video games combine art, storytelling, and memorable characters in ways that inspire me.

Sometimes, it’s a big story arc that sparks an idea. Other times, it’s small side quests or even the story behind a developer’s choices that linger and fuel my creativity later.

Everyday Moments Matter

Small moments also inspire me. A bite of homemade peach jam on toast, the smell and memory of making it, or even a color that catches my eye can spark a new sticker kit idea.

A soft coral shade might remind me of an evening sky, while a bold green might symbolize growth and renewal. Even something as simple as a feather falling while I walk my dog can lead to the next jewelry design.

Paying Attention to the Little Things

For me, inspiration isn’t just about waiting for a big idea—it’s about noticing the little things. The way light hits the water, the comfort of a favorite game, or the sweetness of something handmade can all lead to creativity flowing naturally.

Mahalo!
