Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

With spring just around the corner, I'm getting started on spring cleaning. We go all out in my family from moving furniture all the way to cleaning out cabinets and the pantry. Growing up, my grandmothers were both meticulous about keeping up with housekeeping chores, even to the point of forgetting other things going on. I think from watching them when I was younger, it gave me the belief that cleaning will make life go a lot smoother and you won't get overwhelmed letting things pile up. On top of keeping track of everything for my family and business, adding in all the choices in cleaning products sometimes becomes intimidating when getting started on this season of cleanliness. I try to keep in mind the damage different products could do to the planet or even ourselves and our pets. I sometimes wonder what my grandmothers would think if they knew back then what we know now about what we do to keep our lives and homes tidy.

While I try to be as persistent as they were, there are times I tend to forget something and scramble at the end of the week to finish everything up so that it doesn’t pile up to the next week.. Things happen, accidents occur, and other things take up your time, or just sitting there daydreaming, and the things that I used to struggle to keep up with inspired the little reminders in my shop to help focus on certain parts of cleaning that need to get done on time along with the other time sensitive tasks I have in the week.

So, what cleaning solution or device is a must-have in your home? Mine is the little green machine from Bissell that is a lifesaver. I've lived with pets my whole life and ask any other pet owner, sometimes even the best behaved puppy or kitten still has an accident from time to time. That little machine has saved the carpet so many times.
